marble, Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto~ ED episode 13, violet
I’m sorry to say that I didn’t pay much attention to this song before I saw episode 13. It really is a beautiful song.
Jewels
Lyrics / Composition: micco
Arrangement: Kikuchi Tatsuya
Performance: marble
My eyes from that time saw the truth in those words.
The days and months flow along; repaint the memories that are left behind, and they’re pretty.
Made with paints that won’t disappear, they can’t be erased in my pocket.
I kept searching deep in my heart… for my true self.
The things that came into my hands, the things I lost along the way – I weighed them against each other.
They swayed… The scale slanted.
They can’t be erased, right. These are called “jewels.”
This life belongs only to me, so I tried devoting it to the single moon.
The numerous stars shine in the night; every single one added to the rest.
This life is painted in the sky, so let’s try devoting it to the single moon.
Released into the night, the lights are dazzling; every single one added to the rest.
This life belongs only to me, so I tried devoting it to the single moon.
The numerous stars shine in the night; every single one added to the rest.
If you try looking up, the sky is studded with stars.
They’re within my reach, each and every one……
One of these days, the shadowed moon
Will shine on me again…

Thank you for the translation
Another song I really enjoyed in this series was “Teidanuhikari (Shima Uta)”. Sung by the miko during the eclipse, the song seemed to comment on the plot and action, in the manner of a Greek Chorus.
Unfortunately, the only translation of this song that I’ve seen have been the bits and pieces that show up in the fansubs – Urin’s rendition in your latest sub of Ep 13 is the most complete.
Would it be possible to request a translation of the full version from the OST?
Thanks!

I’m planning to translate it, but since I don’t actually know the island language, I’ll be basing it on Kojima’s explanation in episode… 8, I think, supplemented by whatever similarities the island language has with Japanese.

I’ve fallen in love with that song too and am just itching to learn it. But it seems like full translations don’t exist online… It’s making me a little miserable actually ^^;

I have the same problem! I love Teidanuhikyari. According to Wikipedia, the island language itself is an endangered language. :( But the person who sang it, Nami Miyahara, knows English and Japanese. Maybe we could ask her what the lyrics are!
Here’s more info on the island and its language. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amami_%C5%8Cshima http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amami_language
