HO-KAGO TEATIME, K-ON!! ED2

My opinion:
Cagayake!GIRLS >>> NO,Thank You! > Don’t say “lazy” ≥ Utauyo!!MIRACLE >  GO! GO! MANIAC ≥ Listen!!

NO, Thank You!
Lyrics: Oomori Shouko
Composition: Maezawa Hiroyuki
Arrangement: Komori Shigeo
Performance: Houkago Teatime
[Hirasawa Yui, Akiyama Mio, Tainaka Ritsu, Kotobuki Tsumugi, Nakano Azusa]
(CV: Toyosaki Aki, Hikasa Yoko, Satou Satomi, Kotobuki Minako, Taketatsu Ayana)

We all crowd up around the whiteboard,
Scribbling down our unfettered wishes.
Even if the after-school bell echoes into the sunset,
You can’t disrespect the power of dreaming. Too bad for you!

Let’s sing out with louder, louder, louder voices.
Carry your hopes on your lips.
Once you release your words, they’ll turn into light.
Those are fragments of ourselves!

I don’t need any memories,
Because I’m strongly, deeply, in love with “now”.
To be flooded with memories, to live in sweet luxury like an adult…
For a little bit longer… no thank you!

In the notebook of my heart, the marker draws in confusion,
Just making points about getting pushed and wanting to cry.
We live with pain and joy and everything else.
In endless reverb, those words pierce me. It’s strange…

Let’s keep on, keep on, keep on flying to the other side
On the tailwind of ambitions that can’t wait for the countdown.
Once the beat ticks out, it’ll turn to platinum
And serve us as our wings.

I don’t need any promises,
Because no one can live outside of “now”.
To wish for promises with the innocent frailty of a child…
I have long since… graduated from that!

Into any length of time, into any distance, I’m sure they’ll continue to be heard.
Even though I don’t need eternity, why does it seem like they can’t be lost…
Our Splendid Songs?

Let’s sing more, more, more, even if our voices wither.
Praise this moment with your lips.
We met each other because we held maps with the same route.
That is the bond between us!

NO, Thank You! I don’t need any memories,
Because I’m strongly, deeply, in love with “now”.
To be flooded with memories, to live in sweet luxury like an adult…
For a little bit longer… no thank you!

NO,Thank You!

Let’s sing

Let’s fly

Our Splendid Songs

Let’s sing

NO, Thank You!

  1. Thank you for translating the lyrics.

  2. IMHO, NO,Thank You! > Utauyo!!MIRACLE ≥ Listen! > Go! Go! MANIAC >Don’t Say Lazy! > Cagayake! GIRLS

Cagayake and Don’t Say Lazy got old once Listen and GGM came out. Plus, GGM and Utauyo sounds more “Yui” than Cagayake. For the EDs NO, Thank You! is really just the best of Yoko Hikasa. Hikasa’s second best is Jounetsu no Hana. Just my opinion.

  3. Haha, I guess I’ll post my opinion too?

NO, Thank You! >> Listen!! > Don’t say “lazy” ≥ Utauyo!!MIRACLE >> Cagayake! GIRLS >>>>>> GO! GO! MANIAC

I like rock, so inevitably Hikasa’s songs rank ahead of Toyosaki’s, even though I like Yui…sorry, Yui, Mio’s teenager-themed songs appeal more to me…and Yui and Ritsu look so damn sexy in the “NO, Thank YOU!” ED sequence that it’s hard to not rank it as first…

I agree with Aoi in that Utauyo sounds more “Yui”, but I really dislike GGM (Too much Engrish at the end of the song @^@) and hell no, Cagayake and Don’t say “lazy” are nowhere near old yet…

I really, really, like this song. The instrumentals after the slow part (“Into any length of time…”) remind me a bit of Don’t say “lazy”. And Hikasa is just awesome.
