LONG SHOT PARTY – Tokyo Polaris

LONG SHOT PARTY, c/w Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou OP Ano Hi Time Machine

It’s interesting to hear such serious lyrics on such an uptempo song (with brass, no less). It makes me smile.

Letting me know that it’s time for the season to change, the dry wind makes me halt my feet.
I start to miss your face, and I remember the night sky we saw together.

As I burn up in the dream, it tempts and confuses me.
I’ll search for tomorrow in the starry sky you loved.

“Shedding tears won’t make anything change.”
With that thought, I gazed out from the small window.
The starless sky of Tokyo is cold,
And it cools my sentimental cheeks.

The future that stays on my mind without sleeping spreads through the sky of my faraway hometown.
Someday, I want to see a shooting star in the Tokyo night sky together with you…

But even though the season changes, I won’t go out to meet you.
Your “Do your best!” from the other side of the phone pierces me.

“Shedding tears won’t make anything change.”
With that thought, I gazed out from the small window.
The starless sky of Tokyo is vast,
And my tiny self grows hazy…
Someday, I’d like to watch this night sky with you…

As I burn up in the dream, it tempts and confuses me.
It’s annoying to even look up at the sky through the window.

“Shedding tears won’t make anything change.”
With that thought, I opened the small window a little.
The starless city of Tokyo is beautiful,
And it made me cry just a little bit.

The night view on the other side of my tears today
Looks just like so much stardust in the small window.
The starless sky of Tokyo tells me softly,
“Do your best…” That’s how I’ve come to think of it.

Someday, it’ll be my Tokyo night sky.
