Eiko Shimamiya – Binaural Beat

Eiko Shimamiya, Perfect World

Binaural Beat
Lyrics: Eiko Shimamiya
Composition: Eiko Shimamiya
Arrangement: SORMA No.1 (Yoichi Shimada)

Inside me, there is a small universe. Inside the universe, I exist.
The heavenly bodies are revolving within the body of the universe as its cells.

Do humans resemble anything? Were they made to resemble anything?
Perhaps the form of the universe is the same as that of humans.

Eiko Shimamiya – Perfect World

Eiko Shimamiya, Perfect World

The nature sounds are a nice touch.

Perfect World
Lyrics: Shimamiya Eiko
Composition: Shimamiya Eiko
Arrangement: Eric Mouquet (DEEP FOREST)
Vocals: Shimamiya Eiko

There is something like ourselves in the scattering shapes, blown to and fro by the uncertain winds.
Like snow, the cherry blossoms dance and flutter down.
Even after a thousand years, on the branches of the tree trunk that spreads its roots here,
“This place is where we live, this place and nowhere else,” the flowers whispered.

They say that there is a place even higher than the sky, deep inside the heart.

Eiko Shimamiya – Mune no Cross

Eiko Shimamiya, O

I created the text file for this translation on October 17, 2008. Romaji transcription was complete as of April14, 2009. Kanji transcription was complete on May 31, 2010. I translated the song in about thirty minutes just now. Total time: 623 days.

Cross On My Chest
Words & Music by Eiko Shimamiya
Arranged by Maiko Iuchi
Vocals by Eiko Shimamiya

The previous time we met was on a rather distant day.
We went together to an aged sidewalk cafe.

You invited me suddenly, though I didn’t ask the reason.
People with whimsical personalities are just like that, I suppose.

You opened the door and sat down in front of me.
I, too, smiled and said, “It’s been a while.”
Pretending to be unconcerned, I removed my jacket.

Hey, do you remember?

Eiko Shimamiya – Carnelian no Kanaderu Yume

Eiko Shimamiya, O

I created the text file for this translation on October 17, 2008. Transcription was complete as of April 14, 2009. Total time: 591 days.

I honestly don’t know what the significance of the song title is. Even my translation of the title is kind of iffy. (I do know, though, that I mean “play” in the sense of playing an instrument.)

This song is… comforting.

The Dream Played on the Carnelian
Words & Music by Eiko Shimamiya
Arranged by Jyunpei Fujita
Vocals by Eiko Shimamiya

Kick away everything that stands in your way.
Aim at the sky and kick it up!

Your lame way of life is exposed, but even then, I love everything about you.
I’ll love you at any time.

Eiko Shimamiya – O

Eiko Shimamiya, O

I created the text file for this translation on October 17, 2008. I had one line translated as of December 20, 2009. Five of the verses were translated within the past two days. Total time: 590 days.

The song uses two foreign words that are included for aesthetic effect, “malaika” (meaning “angels”) and “gaia” (meaning “earth”). I have left these two untranslated below, as they are probably meant to stand out for their foreignness.

O
Words & Music by Eiko Shimamiya
Arranged by Kazuya Takase
Vocals by Eiko Shimamiya

Now, they are being swallowed in. The twinkles of a millennium
Are closed by the blackout curtain of unstopping rain, and they will disappear before long.

I want to leave proof that I lived. I want the afterimage on the other side
Of the eyes that belong to you, the one I loved, to remain for eternity.

Eiko Shimamiya – Kyuudou no Hito -remix-

Eiko Shimamiya, O

“Kyuudou” is actually pronouced “gudou” in the song, but I’ll leave the title as it is because all other mentions of the song I can find refer to it as “Kyuudou”.

I can’t decide whether I like the original version or the remix more.

I will say right now that I do not really understand what this song means.

Truth Seeker -remix-
Words & Music by Eiko Shimamiya
Arranged by Kazuya Takase
Vocals by Eiko Shimamiya

It’s too pure for even fish to live in –
Drinking and passing around that water,
The chosen people emit
An aura of baseless tranquility.

If I unload all of this baggage that’s too much to carry,
Things would be easier.
You tell me that like a prophet,
But I know that all too well.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei – Super scription of data

Eiko Shimamiya, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei OP

For this song, I translated the chorus with the intention to make the title line actually make sense.

Superscription of data
Lyrics: Eiko Shimamiya
Composition / Arrangement: Kazuya Takase
Vocals: Eiko Shimamiya

Shall I tell you?
In return, promise not to tell anyone else.
We’ll pinky swear; if it’s a lie, swallow a thousand needles.

Show me the folded, crawling story and spread it out before us.
Both the past and the future are
A Superscription of data.
