Higurashi no Naku Koro ni – you -Arigatou-

dai, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni 10th Anniversary: you & history

Released by M.Graveyard at C82.

This song reflects Shion’s feelings after Matsuribayashi-hen. As dai says in the liner notes, “The past that has come and gone will not change, but memories live on. And from there, the future lies beyond the memories.”

Note: for the second line of verse 3, the booklet contains the phrase 止め処なく (tomedonaku, “endlessly”), but the vocals use the phrase すこしだけ (sukoshi dake, “just a little”).

you -Thank You-
Vocals: Yuzuki
Composition: dai
Arrangement: Luck Ganriki
Lyrics: dai / Luck Ganriki

Now and forever, I make my wish that my calling voice
Will reach the place where you are…

My memories gently speak to me,
As they unwrap the words that were sealed away.
I vow quietly to this sky
That I’ll keep on smiling until the day you return.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni – Natsu no Koe

Niira Etsuko (ALTERNAIT), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni image song (doujin)

Alternate title: “Natsu no Koe -Wind when old and tracks-”

Kanji notes follow translation. I didn’t have the scans to verify the true lyrics, but the fact that notes are even needed means things are probably fine this way.

Voice of Summer
Vocals: Niira Etsuko

I woke up from the illusion. Even if I destroy time,
I can’t go back again, and now I’m all alone.
“I understand.” “It will change.”
No matter how much I shout, it won’t get through…

bermei.inazawa feat. Katakiri Rekka – Tasokare

bermei.inazawa feat. Katakiri Rekka, c/w Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ED why, or why not

The title of the song, “Tasokare,” means “Dusk.” However, considering the archaic kanji combination used to write the word here, “誰そ彼”, the title can be literally interpreted as “Who is There?” – a fitting meaning, for dusk is a time when identities are indistinct to the eyes, as is the endless month of June.

I label this a coupled song, but it is very clearly tied to Higurashi’s story.

Lyrics: interface
Music & Sound Produce: bermei.inazawa
Vocals: Katakiri Rekka

If you close your eyes and listen carefully,
You can hear them in the distance… the voices of cicadas.
The solid and cold fate
Even now repeats, a weathered and sublime swarm.

Suddenly, it begins to break down. The normal is inconsistent; even the self is too heavy a role to play.

Higurashi Motion Graphic: Nakanai Kimi to Nageki no Sekai – Nakanai Kimi

Niira Etsuko (ALTERNAIT), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni image song (doujin), Higurashi Motion Graphic vol.6: Zenshuu Nakanai Kimi to Nageki no Sekai

Requested by APepper.

Not quite sure of the composer/arranger’s name pronunciation. For the vocalist, I gather from the Internet that it’s Niira rather than Shinra.

I love how powerful this song is. I get chills when I hear the “zutto” in the final verse.

Don’t Cry, You
song: Niira Etsuko
word: Nisshi~
music and arrangement: Hyoumoto Yuuji

Tomorrow disappears.
I wonder how many times it’s been.
I can’t see even a hope to cling to.

My heart is captured
By a dark fate.

Slumber, peaceful sleep –
Somehow, like this,
I pray, “please forgive me,” in timeless sleep.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni – Omoi (Vocal)

Yuzuki, Thanks/you

Here’s the second vocal track from dai’s album Thanks/you.

Thoughts (Vocal)
Lyrics: Yuki
Composition: dai
Vocals: Yuzuki

The shadow of the grass was swaying gently.
The distant wind that blows through is refreshing as it flows along.

What should I do to be at peace?

Tell me;
Tell me
With those words of yours.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei – Super scription of data

Eiko Shimamiya, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei OP

For this song, I translated the chorus with the intention to make the title line actually make sense.

Superscription of data
Lyrics: Eiko Shimamiya
Composition / Arrangement: Kazuya Takase
Vocals: Eiko Shimamiya

Shall I tell you?
In return, promise not to tell anyone else.
We’ll pinky swear; if it’s a lie, swallow a thousand needles.

Show me the folded, crawling story and spread it out before us.
Both the past and the future are
A Superscription of data.
